Born and raised on the vibrant West Side of Chicago, I accepted Christ at an early age—a decision that has profoundly shaped my faith, strength, and perspective. Growing up in the 1980s, I developed a deep love for
family that remains at the heart of who I am. I’m a proud mother to three beautiful daughters: Ta’Shena, La’Shena, and Ky’Shena.
In 2019, my youngest, Ky’Shena, transitioned to eternal peace. Her spirit continues to guide and inspire me every day. I’m also honored to be “Grandma” to two bright lights in my life: Tahiri-Jayna and Kai.
Compassion is my core. I live by the values of loyalty, love, and generosity, always ready to offer a helping hand or a listening ear.
I’m a graduate of Zion-Benton High School and studied at the College of Lake County. My life eventually led me to adopt a more conscious, plant-based lifestyle, including vegetarian and vegan options.
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: from modeling in hair and fashion shows to appearing in the film “The Lies We Tell but the Secrets We Keep.”
My path has been filled with both joy and heartbreak, success and struggle. But through therapy, healing, and unwavering faith in God, I’ve overcome the pain of my past. As an author, I write from a place of honesty and emotion, with a deep desire to uplift and inspire others.
My voice is rooted in lived experience, resilience, and a commitment to sharing truth through storytelling.
